Ingredients
  

  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter: softened
  • 1 ¾ cups cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • Buttercream frosting: for decoration
  • Sprinkles: optional, for topping

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the Oven: Heat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line your cake pans with parchment paper.
  • Mix Dry Ingredients: In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • Cream Butter and Sugar: In a separate large bowl, beat the butter and sugar with an electric mixer until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Add Eggs and Vanilla: Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in vanilla extract.
  • Alternate Dry Ingredients and Milk: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk. Begin and end with the flour mixture, mixing until just combined.
  • Divide the Batter: Evenly pour the batter into the prepared cake pans.
  • Bake: Bake for 25-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Cool the Cakes: Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • Frost and Decorate: Once cooled, frost the cake layers with buttercream frosting and add sprinkles or decorations of your choice.
  • Serve: Slice and enjoy your festive birthday cake!
